The Roadsports B Class is the second grid for The Motorsport News Caterham Roadsport Challenge and was introduced in 2002.

Designed to allow natural progression from the Academy, Roadsports B uses all the same major components as an Academy car (in order to keep costs low) but promises fast & close racing with the cars running on the hard compound Avon CR500 tyres. Drivers are also given the option of fitting a rear anti-roll bar whilst for improved handling in the wet, they can remove (if desired) the front anti roll-bar.

To help maintain the "spirit of the Academy", drivers are forbidden from running with professional teams although the drivers themselves have hired Team Parker to provide technical support at race meetings.
